Welcome to the beautiful practice of yoga!

Yoga is for all body types, ages, genders, and races. Our classes offer step-by-step guidance with hands-on assistance when needed (and with your consent). Modifications are available for each pose to accommodate each individual yogi.  One does not need to be thin, fit, or flexible to practice yoga. It is through maintaining a committed practice over time that you will gain strength, flexibility, and a better sense of self.

Yoga is the practice of self-inquiry, including the physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of life. There are many different styles of yoga, and the key is to find the style which best suits your personal needs in the present moment. If you try a class which did not go well for you, other styles of yoga, from gentle to more aerobically intense, may be right for you.

Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Style

What differentiates yoga from other types of exercise is the way yoga progresses. We never really "know" the poses, we're always exploring and expanding, seeing how our bodies respond to the pose and the movement. There are only so many poses...the challenge becomes in how we approach the pose and how we transition from one pose to the other. Classes build on each other and one will experience the greatest benefit from a consistent practice.

Level 1 classes are designed for yogis who are new to yoga or are returning to yoga and are looking for slow-paced direction and a great deal of detail.

Level 2 classes are designed for yogis who have had some exposure to yoga, including an introduction to basic yoga poses, proper alignment, and breathing practices.

Level 3 classes are designed for yogis who have an established personal yoga practice, and are looking for more challenge, inner awareness, stamina, and strength building. Classes are fast-paced and poses are held longer.

Vinyasa yoga is one approach to yoga in which we move from one pose directly into the next. There's a flow to a Vinyasa yoga session, though the specific poses and the pace of the flow vary from one class to the next.

Small-group Personal Training

Fitness classes are designed to meet the needs of yogis at all fitness levels. These circuit-style classes allows everyone to work at their own level and intensity. The format includes body-weight exercises and yoga-based stretching.  Classes are intentionally small so that participants may experience the benefits of working with a personal trainer while completing the workout alongside a group of goal-oriented individuals.
