Welcome to the beautiful practice of yoga!
Yoga is for all body types, ages, genders, and races. Our classes offer step-by-step guidance with hands-on assistance when needed (and with your consent). Modifications are available for each pose to accommodate each individual yogi. One does not need to be thin, fit, or flexible to practice yoga. It is through maintaining a committed practice over time that you will gain strength, flexibility, and a better sense of self.
Yoga is the practice of self-inquiry, including the physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of life. There are many different styles of yoga, and the key is to find the style which best suits your personal needs in the present moment. If you try a class which did not go well for you, other styles of yoga, from gentle to more aerobically intense, may be right for you.
Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Style
Vinyasa yoga is an approach to yoga in which we move from one pose directly into the next. There's a flow to a Vinyasa yoga session, though the specific poses and the pace of the flow vary from one class to the next.
Level 1 classes are designed for yogis who are new to yoga or are returning to yoga and are looking for slow-paced direction and a great deal of detail.
Level 2 classes are designed for yogis who have had some exposure to yoga, including an introduction to basic yoga poses and proper alignment.
Level 3 classes are designed for yogis who have some yoga experience, are fairly fit, and are looking for more challenge, inner awareness, stamina, embodiment and strength building.
Small-group Personal Training
Strength, Flexibility, Balance classes are designed to meet the needs of yogis at all fitness levels. This circuit-style class allows everyone to work at their own level and intensity. The format includes body-weight exercises and yoga-based stretching. Classes are intentionally small so that participants may experience the benefits of working with a personal trainer while completing the workout alongside a group of goal-oriented individuals. Join an established class or start one of your own (minimum of four participants). Email Susan for more information.
