The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year, a quiet, reflective pause when the world slows and the first light of the returning sun begins to appear. It’s a natural time to look back on the past year, honor what has ended, and set intentions for what we want to nurture in the year ahead.

  1. What patterns, habits, or beliefs have run their course this year and are ready to be released?

  2. When in 2025 did I feel most aligned with my purpose, and what can I carry forward?

  3. What fears or doubts surfaced this year, and what have they taught me?

  4. In what ways have I grown quietly this year, spiritually, emotionally, mentally?

  5. What “shadow” parts of myself am I ready to meet with compassion as I step into the new year?

  6. What small joys, surprises, or simple pleasures brightened my year?

  7. Which people, experiences, or communities supported me this year, and how can I honor them?

  8. What new skill, hobby, or interest did I explore in 2025 that brought me fun or satisfaction?

  9. What’s one intention I can set for the coming year that feels exciting or uplifting?

  10. What brings me light, laughter, creativity, nature, or connection, that I want more of in 2026?

As we move through the stillness of the Winter Solstice, our yoga practice can serve as a mirror for reflection and renewal. We can use the prompts below to explore how our practice has supported us, what we are ready to release, and the intentions we wish to carry into the coming year.

  1. What have I discovered about my body, mind, or spirit through my yoga practice in 2025?

  2. Which habits, patterns, or approaches in my practice feel complete or ready to be released?

  3. How has my practice helped me cultivate patience, resilience, or self-compassion over the year?

  4. What new focus or theme do I want to explore in my practice in 2026?

  5. How can I align my yoga practice with my larger goals or intentions for the coming year?
