Hey, yogis, there’s something about September that feels like a new beginning. Maybe it’s the back-to-school vibe, or just the shift in season—but it’s a natural time to set fresh intentions and find our rhythm again. Yoga is such a great way to channel that energy—helping us stay grounded, balanced, and connected.
Since September is all about fresh starts, it feels like the perfect time to introduce (or reintroduce) you to our amazing team of instructors:

Anita Pelak has over 25 years of teaching experience and has been leading yoga classes for 18 years. At first, she loved how the practice built strength and balance, echoing her gymnastics background. Over time, she discovered her true passion: guiding students to use movement and breath to calm the nervous system and improve health. She earned her 500 hour certification with YogaFit International. Anita leads Yoga & Tai Chi on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.

Barb Rome is an apprentice yoga instructor currently earning her 200-hour certification through YogaFit International. With four years of dedicated practice, she teaches with kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm, inviting students to grow alongside her. Outside the studio, Barb expresses her creativity by transforming discarded furniture into beautiful works of art and through her 40-year career as a hairstylist and salon owner. Barb leads two sessions of Gentle Flow, Saturday mornings at 8:30 and Wednesday afternoons at 12:30.

We’re trying something new at Be Well this year: a 10-month deep dive into the Yamas and Niyamas. Yoga isn’t just about stretching or strengthening—it can also be about living with awareness and integrity. The Yamas (guidelines for how we relate to others) and Niyamas (guidelines for how we care for ourselves) help us bring yoga into everyday choices. Each month, we’ll explore one principle together and we’ll be drawing from The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice by Deborah Adele. For those who’d like to read along, copies of the book are available in the studio ($9).
Summer gave us a chance to pause and recharge, and now we’re excited to get back to a fuller schedule this fall. Join us for Yin & Restorative every Sunday at 4 pm, and keep an eye out for our specialty classes and workshops—they’re back too, ready to inspire and challenge our practice. There’s never been a better time to reconnect with our mats and our community.
Deep gratitude to all of you who make our little yoga studio feel so alive. We appreciate your laughter, dedication, and the way you show up for yourselves (and for each other).
May you find peace and serenity in your practice.
Namaste,
Susan
